Bass Lake is a 20 minute drive from the Cottage.
Bass Lake is at its best between Memorial Day & Labor Day, after which water levels drop due to power generation and irrigation use. The lake is 4 miles long, 1/2 mile wide, and fairly shallow, so the water temperature typically run in the mid 70’s in the summer months. So its perfect for swimming, boating & family fun.
It was named one of the Wests top 10 lakes in an issue of Sunset Magazine.
Bass Lake was the stage for the 1940’s classic film, ” Leave her to Heaven” as well as the 1980’s comedy ” The Great Outdoors” staring John Candy & Dan Ackroyd, which can be found in our movie collections.
